During 2022, 9,873 therapy sessions were delivered, including 4,330 occupational therapy sessions, 1,056 speech-language pathology sessions, 4,260 physiotherapy sessions, and 427 psychology sessions. In addition to the regular therapy sessions, Inspire also delivered 9,338 complimentary therapeutic sessions, including 611 animal-assisted activities, 3,330 multi-sensory sessions, 2,917 hydrotherapy pool sessions, and 2,480 therapeutic horse riding sessions.

“We are thrilled to have helped so many people in our community,” said Antonello Gauci, CEO of Inspire Foundation. “It is our core mission to provide quality care and professional support to those in need, and we are proud of the impact we have made in 2022. We find ourselves looking forward to reaching out even further in 2023 to support more members of our community to achieve their full potential as we help prepare these individuals for inclusion and full participation in society and ultimately improve their quality of life.”

The Inspire Foundation draws on decades of experience in the educational, therapeutic, social and recreational needs of persons with disabilities. The Foundation specialises in aiding those on the autism spectrum, having profound multiple learning difficulties and those with behaviours of concern.

The Services and Disability programmes offered include a range of traditional and complementary therapies, as well as the STEP – Intensive Early Intervention program, School Outreach Program, LinC Day School Program,  the STEP Forward Programme, STAR, and an Advice Line. The services and activities are provided for free or are heavily subsided to users and their families, and the organisation has to generate more than €4.5 million annually to keep providing this support to the community. This cannot be done without the generosity of the public, event organisers and the corporate community. To find out how one can help support The Inspire Foundation, visit: https://inspire.org.mt/

The conference will feature several distinguished international speakers and will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about evidence-supported, trauma-informed and empathic approaches that reflect more up-to-date theory.
