Nestlé Malta’s Clothes Drive – Turning Pre-Loved into Re-Loved
Nestlé Malta is once again inviting the public, together with its employees, to take part in its annual Clothes Collection Drive, now in its sixth edition, running from 3 – 28 November. This annual initiative encourages people to donate clean, pre-loved men’s clothing, giving garments a second life while directly supporting those in need. In parallel, Nestlé food products will also be donated by Nestlé Malta as part of this initiative to assist the community, reinforcing the company’s commitment to both social and environmental sustainability.
This year’s clothes donations will go to Inspire Foundation and MSPCA, two local NGOs that operate charity shops across Malta. By reselling donated clothing, these organisations help fund vital services within the community, creating a circular model that turns unused clothing into meaningful support for others.
Those wishing to contribute are invited to drop off their clothing donations at the Nestlé Consumer Centre in Lija, open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. The centre will be closed on Sundays. The drive offers ample time for individuals and families to sort through their wardrobes and participate in this small but powerful act of sustainability and solidarity.
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, Nestlé Malta will once again match the total weight of clothing collected with an equivalent donation of Nestlé food items to the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation. This dual initiative not only extends the life of garments through reuse and upcycling but also helps ensure that more families in Malta have access to essential food supplies.
“Over the years, the Clothes Collection Drive has become a wonderful example of how the small actions of individuals can add up to a larger positive impact,” said Anita Olton, Corporate Communications Manager at Nestlé Malta. “Through the simple act of donating pre-loved clothes, we’re reducing waste, supporting local NGOs, and giving back to the community in multiple ways. Join us in making a meaningful impact in our community.”
Since its launch in 2020, the Nestlé Malta Clothes Collection Drive has become a key component of the company’s Creating Shared Value strategy, combining environmental responsibility with social care. Now in its sixth year, the initiative continues to embody the spirit of the circular economy by turning what might otherwise go to waste into opportunities to help others.
