The highly anticipated event took place on May 25th, 2023, at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC). With a turnout of over 170 attendees, the conference brought together experts from around the globe to explore evidence-supported, trauma-informed, and empathic approaches to address behaviours of concern.

“Behaviours of concern are a significant hurdle that affects various aspects of life, be it at home, in schools, or across health and social care settings,” stated Paula Doumanov, Chief Quality Officer at Inspire Foundation. “Our conference was aimed at fostering meaningful and impactful discussions among mental health experts, with a particular focus on education, health services, and policies. As an NGO focused on improving the disability sector, we are committed to finding insights and solutions to empower and support individuals affected whilst providing health care professionals with sound academic insights and best practices.”
The conference featured an impressive line-up of keynote speakers, including Inspire’s Family Relations Manager Charlene Borg, parents Neville and Olga Cassar Bonavia, Alexis Quinn, Dr Elena Giouroukou, Dr Ian A. Davidson, Dr Ruth Moyse, Professor George Bagakis, Dr Thanos Koulis, Professor Richard Mills, Nicci Paine, Dr Georgia Pavlopoulou, and Dr Bernadette Grosjean. Their expertise and thought-provoking presentations left a lasting impact on the attendees, further enriching their understanding of best practices and innovative approaches to managing behaviours of concern.
