Xjenza Malta Leads the Way in Sustainable Commuting
Electric Bikes and Charging Stations to be provided for employees in first government-backed initiative
Xjenza Malta, a pioneering agency in innovative scientific research and sustainable development, becomes the first government-backed agency to provide its employees with electric bikes to run office errands, in a bid to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions, in line with the government’s vision to promote eco-friendly alternatives.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Xjenza Malta will be offering these electric bikes for daily use by employees, encouraging them to choose clean, efficient transportation over traditional vehicles in order to commute to the the office and run their office errands.
“We are excited to be leading the charge with this new initiative that aims to reduce our environmental footprint while also offering our employees a unique and practical way to navigate the workplace,” said Sivlio Scerri, CEO at Xjenza Malta. “By providing electric bikes for office errands, we hope to reduce traffic congestion in the area, lower emissions, and inspire other organisations to adopt similar green policies.”
Further strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility, Xjenza Malta has also installed electric car charging stations at its premises during office hours. This facility will be available to employees who have made the transition to electric vehicles, providing them with a reliable and convenient means of charging while at work.
“Our efforts go beyond just bikes – we want to support employees who have already made or are in the process of switching to electric cars. With our newly installed charging stations, we aim to provide a seamless, sustainable commuting experience for all,” added Silvio Scerri.
This initiative aligns with Malta’s broader environmental goals, including the government’s recent push to reduce carbon emissions and promote the use of electric vehicles. Xjenza Malta’s commitment is in line with government-backed strategies, including providing opportunities for young people to embrace greener transportation options such as mopeds and electric bikes.
By adopting these sustainable practices, Xjenza Malta is setting an example for other government agencies and organisations to follow, reinforcing its role as a leader in promoting environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility.
