Seashells Resort at Suncrest celebrates World Tourism Day

Seashells Resort at Suncrest has recently celebrated World Tourism Day on Tuesday 27th September. The United Nations World Tourism Organisation has been celebrating this day since 1980 and Malta’s all-inclusive resort, took the initiative to commemorate this day with a reception for all the guests staying at the hotel, with the purpose to celebrate tourism and different cultures.

World Tourism Day is celebrated all over the world to upsurge awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. This year’s global theme was ‘Tourism for All – Promoting Universal Accessibility’. The choice for this theme was to highlight disability issues in the context of travel and tourism. In this regard, the management at Seashells Resort at Suncrest invited Service Dogs Malta Foundation for this event. During a reception held in the hotel lobby a presentation was given and guests gave their donations for such a good cause.

“Almost 15% of the world’s population live with some form of disability, meaning that around 1 billion people around the planet are incapable to relish the pleasure of knowing other cultures, experience nature and boarding on a journey to discover new wonders. As we celebrate this international day, let us remember that all of the world’s citizens have the right to experience the multiplicity and diversity that the world and indeed Malta as well have to offer,” said by the Hotel Manager, Mr Joseph Vella.

The management and staff of Seashells Resort at Suncrest took this occasion to present a contribution during this event, in order to further fund this foundation.
