Hospice Malta Launches Sunflower Campaign 2025 to Support Free Palliative Care Services
Hospice Malta has officially launched its annual Sunflower Campaign 2025, inviting the public and business community to come together in support of its patient-centric and holistic palliative care services, which extend beyond the individual to also support their loved ones through every step of the journey. With the tagline “Together we can make a difference,” this year’s campaign continues Hospice Malta’s mission to support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
The Sunflower Campaign remains one of Hospice Malta’s most important fundraising initiatives. Funds raised will directly sustain essential services — including Home Care, which is delivered by a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and professionals who visit patients in the comfort of their own homes. This service ensures that individuals living with serious illnesses receive personalised medical, emotional, and psychosocial support, surrounded by their loved ones.
Other services supported through the campaign include Day Therapy, HydroTherapy, Bereavement Support, Care Assistant Services, Loans of Specialised Equipment, After-Hours On-Call services, and Patient Transport — all offered free of charge to those in need.
In addition, your support will help further develop St. Michael Hospice, Hospice Malta’s new, modern facility in Santa Venera. While it already offers community-based and day therapy services, the next important step is the introduction of inpatient palliative care services, planned for later this year. This marks a major milestone in providing more comprehensive care, bringing a range of essential services together under one roof to better meet the growing needs of our community.
Kenneth Delia, CEO of Hospice Malta, expressed deep appreciation for the public’s ongoing support: “The recent completion and operation of St. Michael Hospice marks a milestone for our organisation. It strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality, holistic care and enables us to introduce inpatient services for patients facing life-limiting conditions. We urge the public and business community to support the Sunflower Campaign and stand with us in making a difference in the lives of those who need us most.”
