Staff from The Palace and The Victoria Hotel bake figolli for hospital children

Easter is a time for celebrations, food and figolli, the popular treat for many. The staff at The Palace and The Victoria Hotel, Sliema organised an activity to decorate, and prepare the delicious Maltese figolli, made of sweet pastries, filled up with almond paste and cut out in various shapes, and distributed them to children residing in hospital during the Easter period. The staff were willing to take time out of their schedules, knowing they would be putting a smile on children’s faces.

They say that baking sweets is love made visible and this was the case at Mater Dei Hospital, as these figolli were well appreciated by the children at the hospital wards of Fairyland, Disneyland, Rainbow and Wonderland, who looked overjoyed as they tasted their figolla, made with love and with a bit of melted chocolate on the top of their special Easter treat. The staff at The Palace and The Victoria Hotel also collected a donation to raise funds for Puttinu Cares Children Cancer Support Group.
