Leonardo Barilaro releases his new single ‘Perseverance’ as tribute to Mars 2020 mission

Pianist and aerospace engineer Leonardo Barilaro, in collaboration with composer Zakarias Gunnarsson, releases his new single ‘Perseverance’ as tribute to the mission Mars 2020.
‘Perseverance’ is a space music cinematic composition with a synthwave downtempo nuance that uses as core the sound of the Martian Wind, thanks to the samples recorded by NASA.
This experimental piece has also a combination of hacked piano, retro-synth and analogue drum machine.
Perseverance is available on Spotify and all main music digital platforms.
Leonardo Barilaro hopes to see humanity as a multi-planetary species in the following years and Mars 2020 achieved another important milestone along this path.
Leonardo is an Italian artist based in Malta and is developing his music research where he merges with different live techniques piano and synth, designing the steps to the first concert on Mars.
Also Icelandic musician Zakarias Gunnarsson is based in Malta and the duo met in 2020 thanks to the shared passion for electronic music and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Since the start of the Covid19 pandemic Leonardo Barilaro produced and released 3 EPs and 9 singles, developing his contemporary space music genre. In January Leonardo released a tribute to Anathema, in collaboration with metal queen Mariangela Demurtas (lead singer of Tristania).
The experimental single “Perseverance” and its space-futuristic sound are out now.
