Rugby festival supported by Gasan Mamo

24 primary schools and 12 secondary schools from Malta and Gozo participated in a Rugby Festival held on March 1st at the Marsa Sports Complex and on March 4th at St. Aloysius College organised by the Malta Rugby football union with the support of GasanMamo. “We are very happy with the turnout,” said Daniel Holliday, Community Coach with the Malta Rugby Football Union. “To see the children playing the sports and giving their best to learn and improve the game is more than enough to continue with our aim to encourage youths to take a leap of faith in the world of rugby.” The schools participating in the festival had mixed teams with both boys and girls giving their utmost on the field. Coaches present at the festival gave children the opportunity to enjoy the competitive experience while enjoying themselves. “At GasanMamo we believe in helping youth develop through sports. We have been supporting the MRFU youth development programme for a number of years and the  feedback has been very positive. The future of rugby in Malta is looking bright, confirmed by the increasing numbers of young players and the demand for rugby tournaments from schools,” concluded Julian Mamo, Director at GasanMamo.

Malta will face Switzerland in the Rugby World Cup Qualifier against Switzerland on April 6th at the Hibernians Football Stadium. For further information visit www.maltarugby.com.
