Share a 4×4 off-road adventure tour in Cyprus

Many are those who have dreamt of a 4×4 adventure to discover the quaint and original villages in Cyprus that are off the tourist trail. Enrico Travel has now teamed up with Emirates Airline and PaqPaq team to offer a 4×4 adventure tour around the mystical island of Cyprus next April. The tour offers a fantastic opportunity for groups of adult relatives and friends to get together for an exciting off-road adventure while discovering driving destinations in Cyprus.

The tour will leave Malta on Wednesday 3 April and return on Sunday 7 April 2013. The package includes Malta/Larnaka/Malta airfares in Emirates Economy Class, taxes and fuel surcharge, 4 nights accommodation with breakfast, the rental of 4×4 vehicle shared by 4 persons; the tour leader, and all excursions. The package price is €498 per person sharing a Cyprus Villages double / twin charming village farmhouse in Tochni. Charges for entrance fees, food and beverages, fuel and jeep full insurance are not included. Terms and conditions apply.

“The best way to discover Cyprus is by car. One can explore the beautiful forested mountains, deep gorges, archaeological sites and quiet inland villages,” said Enrico Travel Managing Director, Enrico Borg. “The 4×4 tour has been planned to visit many sites that are off the tourist trail. Roads are very well sign-posted in English and driving is on the same left-hand side as in Malta.”

The jeep excursion will take visitors through the winding roads of the TroodosMountains surrounded by picturesque villages, such as Platres, Arsos, and Omodos, home to traditional lace-making, jewellery and a quaint monastery. At Omodos participants visit a winery and then drive to the significant archaeological site and majestic amphitheatre of Currium before proceeding to Akrotiri and Episkopi before the day’s trip ends in Limassol. Another excursion will take visitors to the western part of the island – Paphos, the birthplace of Aphrodite and surrounded by ancient ruins, and driving to the Akamas region and see Avakas Gorge which is a favourite area for hikers.

Blessed with a mild climate, Cyprus is an open-air museum and along the tour one will spot various Greek temples, Roman villas, early Christian basilicas, Byzantine churches and castles amongst many others treasures from the past.

With its welcoming, fun loving people, delightful climate, fine food and wines, and great sight-seeing, it is easy to see why many Maltese are attracted to Cyprus. The flight duration is just over two hours on Emirates refurbished Boeing 777-200 aircraft, providing an award-winning inflight experience by its international cabin crew, ice inflight entertainment on every seat, and gourmet cuisine.
