It’s a Family Affair at InterContinental Malta

The onset of cooler weather brings with it traditional, family Sunday lunches.   With a strong sense of occasion, InterContinental Malta offers smooth service, a grand restaurant and an extremely extensive buffet menu with an international flair.

This year however, it’s all about children.  We’re letting children do the cooking, some of it that is, and just in case that’s not up to speed, we’ve got over 130 expertly prepared items to choose from.

Starters focus on a vast selection of fresh antipasti, large creative salads, an array of cured meats, marinated fish and seafood delicacies, and terrines from both land and sea, accompanied by freshly prepared dips and dressings.  The main buffet counter, amongst other things, includes grilled beef steaks set on a red kidney bean salad, served with Madagascar pepper cream sauce or pan fried stone bass fillets set on a prawn salad served with a tomato and pineapple salsa.

Alongside our main buffet we’ve set up a unique food court with a display of international flavors, including a Turkish station; Asian dishes with freshly prepared sushi; a choice of fresh individual baked pot pies and tarts and a weekly themed food station using fragrant flavors and the best quality ingredients in season.

A separate kids’ corner in which children can try their hand at creating their own desserts is one of a number of the ways we’ve ensured they’ll be kept busy, enabling parents to soak up the ambiance, and sample the food.  Traditional animation is also available as is a child friendly selection of food items.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are a wide selection of freshly baked cakes, pies, flans, individual desserts, hot pudding, fresh or carved seasonal and tropical fruit, a choice of ice-creams and live cooking waffles or the hotel’s signature ‘bon bon’ station. To finish off a separate cheese counter with local and international cheeses, nuts, dried fruit, grissini and water biscuits is also on offer.

“This season, our team has truly outdone themselves with high quality fare,” said Giuseppe Vincelli General Manager of InterContinental Malta. “We are looking forward to yet another exciting hospitality season ahead of us.”

Sunday lunch at Harruba, is held between 1 and 3 pm and costs €30 per person. Complimentary parking is included as is live entertainment. Children between 6 and 11 will be charged half price whilst those under 6 eat for free. For more information or to make a reservation call 21 377 600 or e-mail FB@intercontinental.com.mt.
