HSBC Bank Malta launches free mobile banking

HSBC Bank Malta has just added another major channel to its online banking experience. The Bank’s customers, who to date have enjoyed Free Personal Internet Banking , can now enjoy mobile banking, simply by downloading the free Mobile Banking App from Apple Store or Google Play straight to their iPhone®, iPad® or Android™ smartphone.

The app allows users – once logged in – to view their account balances, details and history.  They can also transfer between their own accounts, including their credit card, as well as pay bills, send and receive secure messages, and view currency and deposit rates, among other features. Users can also transfer funds to any other third-party HSBC account holders, including those who don’t use mobile banking. This feature is unique to HSBC Mobile Banking. To complement the app launch, HSBC Bank Malta has made its website www.hsbc.com.mt  totally mobile adaptive, which means it automatically adjusts to the screen size of the device that the customer is using.

“Our goal for the launch of our new mobile banking app is to provide HSBC Malta customers with innovative and personalised experience across devices and channels while they are on the move, and in a way that suits them. The mobile app has many of the same features customers have come to love from HSBC Malta’s free online banking,” said Paul Steel, Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management at HSBC Malta.

To access the app, customers must be an HSBC Personal Internet Banking user. Customers can register for HSBC’s free Personal Internet Banking at www.hsbc.com.mt. The HSBC Malta mobile banking app will be available to download for iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ smartphones. To make Mobile Banking more convenient customers do not always need to use their PIB Secure Key. In fact a password of customer’s choice can be set up through Internet Banking and this can subsequently be used to access most of the Mobile Banking features once this has been installed on the user’s device

For any assistance, customers can visit www.hsbc.com.mt or the @HSBC_MT_Help Twitter handle, or contact HSBC through their nearest branch and the HSBC Contact Centre.
