Eden Leisure Group has recently donated over 800 pieces of fine Villeroy & Boch crockery and kitchenware items to Hospice Malta.

Following another donation made earlier this year, Eden Leisure Chief Operations Officer, Kate De Cesare said, ‘We are happy to be able once again support Hospice Malta towards the completion of St. Michael Hospice. It is our hope that this recent contribution will help make the new complex feel more homely and wholesome to both patients and their families.’

Hospice Malta Chief Executive Officer, Kenneth Delia, thanked Ms. De Cesare and Eden Leisure Group for their generous contribution saying, “Hospice is extremely grateful for the sustained support received from Eden Leisure. We encourage other organisations to follow suit in their support towards Hospice’s mission. It is through such generous support from businesses and organisations that our new palliative care facility, St Michael Hospice, is set to welcome its first patients toward the middle of next year.  “

Hospice Malta provides free of charge palliative care services across Malta and Gozo to patients suffering life limiting conditions due to serious illness, as well as support to the patients’ families.

With an investment of over €13 million, St Michael Hospice, will become the main premises for Hospice Malta and is expected to help further enhance the already established palliative community services provided by Hospice since 1989 with the inclusion of In-Patient palliative care services.

The present-day therapy services will be expanded, and  Out-Patient clinics will also be introduced. St Michael Hospice will also enhance its educational wing which will open many opportunities to exchange expertise with other Hospices across Europe and beyond.

Hospice Malta can offer its crucial support through the help of volunteers and donations. In the last year, it has provided palliative care to more than  1,300 families.
