KMS Skolasport encourages fitness classes even among adults

KMS Skolasport is more synonymous with sports disciplines geared for children and teens, but they also offer adults fitness classes. KMS Skolasport believes in encouraging parents, friends and adults to participate in the special adult activity classes. These fitness classes for adults are held concurrently with their children’s sports sessions, making it easier for parents to participate rather than wait for their children in their parked cars.

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), the majority of deaths in Malta in 2013 resulted from diseases in the circulatory system, causing a heart failure. The underlying reasons for circulatory system problems may vary from the person’s genes to lifestyle habits.

Still one must take heart, as there are ways of reducing the chances of being afflicted by these heart problems. Moderate exercise and a healthy diet are some of the best practices a person can take up to keep the heart and body healthy.

For this purpose, KMS Skolasport, which is being sponsored by Kellogg’s for the fifteenth consecutive year, encourages parents and adults to lead by example, and participate in activity fitness classes while their children are practising their preferred sport. Sessions for adults also include general fitness programmes, aerobics, yoga, Pilates and a variety of sports, including swimming.

There are seven different sports complexes that cater for adult activity classes. These are:
the Cottonera Sports Complex, Marsa Sports Complex, Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex, St Benedict’s Sports Complex in Kirkop, St Ignatius College Tal-Handaq Sports Complex, Maria Regina College in Mosta and St Clare College in Pembroke. It is never too late, parents and adults can join the new term starting from Saturday 11th April and ending in May 2015.

“Kellogg’s is a firm believer in encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle from a young age. A healthy and balanced diet together with regular exercise helps improve a person’s health and well being, irrespective of age. Kellogg’s, through its KMS Skolasport sponsorship, is further underlining its commitment towards promoting a healthy lifestyle among Maltese families,” said a Kellogg’s spokesperson.
