GO wins Champions League rights until 2018

GO Sports subscribers will continue to enjoy live coverage of the UEFA Champions League until 2018 following an announcement from UEFA that it has awarded the media rights for Europe’s leading club football competition to GO for a further three seasons.

In addition to eight live matches being broadcast on every match night, GO Sports customers will also be able to enjoy match highlights and a Champions League magazine programme. Through TV Anywhere, GO interactive subscribers will also be able to follow live Champions League matches being shown on GO Sports 1 and GO Sports 2 on their mobile devices.

Kurt Camilleri, Chief Commercial Officer at GO, said, “UEFA’s decision to once again award the Champions League media rights to GO highlights just how committed we are to making the investments needed to give our customers a great experience. In addition, our exclusive rights to the Italian Serie A TIM and the Barclays Premier League, as well as other top sports events such as Formula One and 6 Nations Rugby, all contribute to make GO the undisputed home of sports broadcasting in Malta.”

GO Sports is available to GO TV customers from €7.99 a month for the Standard package. GO Sports Premium, offering six channels of sporting action to GO Digital TV customers and eight channels to GO Interactive TV Customers, is currently available for €14.99 a month. New GO Interactive TV customers can also enjoy a further two HD channels, GO Sports HD1 and GO Sports HD2, for free for the duration of their contract. Interactive TV subscribers can also enjoy the service on multiple outlets in their homes as well as on their smartphone or tablet through TV Anywhere at no extra cost.
