Port Workers truck driver injured following collision with another vehicle at Freeport
A Port Workers truck driver working at Malta Freeport Terminals was seriously injured last night following a collision with another vehicle while carrying out operations on a container ship.
The 58-year-old driver received immediate first aid from the on-duty Freeport nurse before the emergency services arrived to transfer the man to hospital.
Malta Freeport Terminals is looking into the causes of the incident while also fully cooperating with the civil authorities who came on site and are carrying out a thorough investigation.
A Freeport spokesperson said: “The man’s colleagues were obviously shocked by the incident and our thoughts at this time are very much with the injured worker and his family.”
