Auditor General report on RHIBs
Transport Malta acknowledges the findings outlined in the Auditor General’s report concerning the acquisition of Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs). It is important to note that the Authority did not execute any payments to the RHIB supplier for their procurement, to safeguard the public’s interest and the best use of public funds.
Beyond the absence of financial transactions related to the RHIB purchase, the Authority actively cooperated, providing comprehensive information to facilitate scrutiny of its operations. Furthermore, Transport Malta is diligently addressing the recommendations and observations highlighted by the Auditor General, as evident in the ‘management comments’ featured in the published report. The Authority is dedicated to enhancing its internal procedures as part of its ongoing commitment to
improvement.
