This summer – T-Rex dinosaur visiting Bay Street

Jurassic Dino, JD to its friends, is the baby T-Rex dinosaur that has found a home in the Bay Street Complex – and visitors will get the chance to fall in love with our new pet.
The main summer attraction for 2015 at Bay Street, in St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, is Jurassic Street housing a life-size, young T-Rex dinosaur which is set to mesmerise all those visiting the Jurassic-themed paddock in the Rotunda on Level Zero at Bay Street. The baby T-Rex is over 2 metres tall and, more impressively, is some 4.3 metres long from nose to tail.
The big ‘T’ stands for Tyrannosaurus, which comes from the Greek words meaning ‘tyrant lizard’. Rex means ‘king’ in Latin. Those who enter the T-Rex Paddock can have their photo taken with the T-Rex, printed there and then for them to take home.
Philip Galea, Marketing Executive for the Bay Street Complex, said in a statement: “Bay Street wanted to show our visitors something that wasn’t an illusion, something that they can see and touch. It is a learning experience for young and old.” Mr Galea explained that no expense was spared in operating this attraction.
The Dinosaur Attraction will be enhanced with occasional informational talks by scientists from the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina.
The Jurassic Street Summer attraction at Bay Street is being supported by Mercedes-Benz KIND’S Auto Sales Ltd , Original Marines on Level 2 at Bay Street, the Malta National Aquarium, Heritage Malta, Malta sightseeing and Smart Point.
