Malta Public Transport is announcing a special service on Saturday, 28th September, to accommodate attendees of two events: the “Una notte con le Stelle” concert in Floriana and the Science in the City festival in Valletta. This public transport service will feature a range of routes departing from Valletta late in the evening, providing convenient travel options for event-goers across the island.
The S12 route will be operated for the first time as part of a special event service. Similar to the highly popular TD13 route, the S12 will connect Valletta with key northern destinations, including St. Julians, Pembroke Park & Ride, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, Bugibba, and Qawra, ensuring direct access to these localities.
The following routes will be in operation, offering a broad range of destinations to suit passengers coming from different localities:
The S10 route will cover Marsa, Paola, Isla, Bormla, and Birgu before heading to Kalkara.
The S20 and S30 routes will provide coverage from Valletta through Floriana, Pieta’, and Msida, with the S20 continuing on to Gżira and San Ġwann, and the S30 servicing the central towns of Birkirkara, Lija, Iklin, and Naxxar, before heading towards Bugibba.
The S40 route will extend to the northern localities, serving Birkirkara, Mosta, Mġarr, and Għajn Tuffieħa.
The S41 will provide a journey from Valletta to Mellieha and Cirkewwa, stopping at St. Paul’s Bay, Xemxija, and Għadira Bay.
Routes such as the S50 will cover Rabat, Ħ’Attard, Mtarfa, and Ħad-Dingli.
The S60 route will connect Floriana, and Marsa Park & Ride with the localities of Ħal Qormi, Iż-Żebbuġ, and Siġġiewi Centre.
The S70 route will serve Floriana, and Blata l-Bajda, continuing through Marsa, San Vinċenz de Paul, Ħal Luqa, Ħal Kirkop, Ħal Safi, Iż-Żurrieq, Il-Qrendi, and L-Imqabba.
The S80 route will link Floriana with Marsa Park & Ride, passing through Raħal Ġdid, Tarxien, Santa Luċija, Bulebel, Iż-Żejtun, Marsaxlokk, Birżebbuġa, Ħal Għaxaq, and Ħal Gudja.
The S90 route will cover Floriana, and Blata l-Bajda, then continue through Marsa, Raħal Ġdid, Fgura, Iż-Żabbar, and Marsaskala.
In addition, regular Night Services, including the N13, N48, N62, N82, and N91, will continue to operate as scheduled. .
All special services will depart from Valletta between 23:20 hrs and 00:05 hrs, providing transport options for those returning home after the events. These routes are included in the Free Public Transport scheme, allowing passengers with a valid personalised Tallinja Card to travel for free by tapping the card against the ticket machine upon boarding. Passengers without a Tallinja Card will need to pay a fare of €3, either by cash or contactless payment.
