Maypole sole food provider at Mnarja

All the food stands at this year’s Mnarja celebrations at Buskett have been awarded to Maypole, which will be the sole provider of traditional Maltese food and sweets at this popular event this weekend.

On  Saturday evening there will be individual stations serving fried rabbit, a variety of Stews (Maltese, Tripe and Horsemeat) in bread,  Duo of Suckling Pig and Pork Leg and also a station with traditional Maltese platters.

The sweet stands will include no fewer than eight flavours of kannoli, including the classic filling, torrone, nocciola, lemon, cookie, berry, pistacio and chocolate.

On Sunday morning, from 5 o’clock, breakfast will be served, including pastizzi with traditional fillings, along with a special filling for the occasion of chicken and mushroom.

“Maypole is fully committed to providing the high standard of service that our esteemed clients have come to expect and Mnarja is no exception,” a spokesman said. “There will be a full selection of food for dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and we have a team of 20 chefs and assistants manning the stands and cooking the food fresh on site.”
