Malta Playing Arts goes public
Malta Playing Arts, the pack and deck of artistically depicted playing cards is going public at a forthcoming collective art exhibition in Valletta. Over 60 artists who have showcased their works on these playing cards, will be exhibiting under the MPA banner at Palazzo Ferreira on Republic Street, from April 18 – 29 (Monday – Friday; 08.30 – 16.30).
Exhibition organiser and editor behind the concept, Margit Waas says, “Each pack and deck carries a kaleidoscope of artistic works since it contains a dense collection of 58 artworks by varied artists in Malta & Gozo. Each pack can be accompanied by a handmade pouch in the Maltese national colours, a poster of all the card images, and a detailed walk-through guide and compendium which includes a carousel of images of all the people involved in the project. Now these artists have been invited to participate in this exhibition, thus getting the opportunity of going public through MPA.”
Proceeds from the sales of the cards are going to Happy Paws, a charitable organisation which works for the well-being of stray animals and for which Margit herself volunteers. Most of the exhibited works will also be on sale throughout the exhibition.
