Inspire’s STEP IEI Programme re-awarded accreditation status by National Autistic Society UK

Inspire Foundation Malta’s programme STEP IEI (Intensive Early Intervention), a specialised programme for children on the autism spectrum, has once again been awarded accreditation status by the National Autistic Society (NAS) UK.

The Structured Training and Education Programme (STEP) is a highly individualised, specialised programme which is delivered through a multi-disciplinary team consisting of tutors, speech and language pathologists, an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and psychologist.

The Autism Accreditation Specialist Award provides a seal of quality to the STEP IEI programme, and peace of mind to care givers, when choosing a service for a relative or loved one.

Commenting on the accreditation, Inspire Foundation Chief Quality Officer Paula Doumanov noted how Inspire was driven to ensure that the design, content, and delivery of all of its services, were of the highest standard and quality.

“It is for this reason that we involved NAS, the UK’s leading charity for persons affected by autism, in the development and accreditation of Inspire’s autism-related services from the start. We are extremely proud to once again be able to boast of the sterling quality of our services which is the fruit of the undying dedication of our staff towards our service users” Paula Doumanov, Inspire’s Chief Quality Officer, remarked.

Autism Accreditation is an internationally recognised quality standard which provides an autism-specific quality assurance for over 300 organisations across the globe.

The STEP IEI Programme was first accredited by the NAS Accreditation Programme in 2002. In July 2013 Inspire’s Multisensory Therapy & Therapeutic Horse-Riding Services were accredited, followed by Inspire’s Pool and Therapeutic and Creative Arts services in 2016. The therapeutic services are the first services of their kind to be accredited by the NAS.

In 2019 Inspire’s Therapeutic services were also awarded Advanced Accreditation status by the NAS. Inspire was the first organisation outside of the UK to have been awarded Advanced accreditation and is the only organisation to have been awarded such a stamp of quality for therapeutic services by the NAS.
