Transport Malta Launches New Educational Book for Children
Transport Malta has launched a new educational book featuring the character Tammy, with the aim of educating children about road signs and road safety. This book is part of a wider educational campaign aimed at children, by fostering a sense of responsibility and respect from a young age, values that can also be transmitted to their parents.
The launch of the book was held on the initiative of Transport Malta with the participation of the children of the Authority’s employees. During this activity, the children received a copy of the book, read it together and were given an explanation of its content.

The Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, Chris Bonett, presented the book and spoke to the children present. He explained to them the importance of learning to respect each other from a young age so that our roads are safer. Minister Bonett emphasised the importance of these educational campaigns to reduce road accidents as much as possible. “The innocence and sincerity of children should be an example to us adults about the important role of basic values such as obedience and respect. Sometimes it is children who remind us of the true rules of life.” said Minister Bonett. “Tammy’s idea is a way for Transport Malta to instill in our children a sense of awareness about what they should do on our roads. Through this animated lullaby we want to remind them that we can all help to make our roads safer,” remarked Transport Malta Chief Executive Kurt Farrugia. The campaign will continue with other initiatives in schools across Malta and Gozo with the aim of continuing to spread the message of safety and respect for road rules.
