BOV HOSTS BOAT PARTY FOR EMPLOYEES

The BOV Sports and Social Committee (BOVSSC) successfully hosted its annual Boat Party, reinforcing its commitment to employee wellbeing and engagement. The highly anticipated event brought together 150 Bank of Valletta employees aboard the Hera II for an evening dedicated to team building, networking and relaxation.

Departing from Sliema and sailing towards Fra Ben in St. Paul’s Bay, the event provided a welcoming environment where employees from different teams could connect outside the workplace. Lively entertainment by DJ Pierre Cordina kept attendees engaged with a mix of Italian classics and energetic pop music.

The boat party is just one of the many events that the Bank’s Sports and Social Committee organises for employees. This event closely follows a successful quiz night that saw over 280 employees come together to further nurture collaboration and a strong sense of belonging.

Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer and President of the BOVSSC, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering a positive work culture. He explained, “The annual boat party is more than just a social event; it is an opportunity to strengthen relationships across teams, promote employee well-being, and reinforce our shared values as one community. The strong participation and positive feedback confirm the value of these initiatives in building an engaged and motivated workforce.”

The BOVSSC continues to play a key role in supporting the Bank’s commitment to its people. By creating spaces where colleagues can build stronger personal and professional connections, the Bank supports employee well-being, living up to its commitment of being the employer of choice in Malta.
