City Malta of Fighters to host Tekken charity tournament for The Malta Trust Foundation

Close to 30 enthusiasts of the legendary fighting esports game Tekken will be converging at San Ġorġ Preca College, Ħamrun, this Sunday to compete in a five-hour tournament to raise funds for The Malta Trust Foundation.
Organised by City of Fighters, the Charity Tekken Tournament 2 will feature players of all levels and everyone, regardless of experience and skill, is welcome to register to contribute to this meaningful cause.
City of Fighters organiser Joseph Facciol was inspired to hold this tournament after his son benefitted from The Malta Trust Foundation’s E3 project, which provides tailor-made, augmentative communication devices to enable children — who are non-verbal and on the autism spectrum — to communicate and not fall behind in school.
“This upcoming charity tournament serves as both a showcase of the players’ skill and a powerful opportunity to give back… it is also intended to raise awareness about the wonderful work carried out by The Malta Trust Foundation, driven by the energy of its founder, President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca,” Mr Facciol said.
Tekken City Malta has grown into one of the largest esports community in the country, reaching 103 individual players throughout the year, and Mr Facciol is hoping to grow this number with more than 40 events planned for this year.
With a mission to maintain professional standards in local esports, Tekken City Malta ensures its tournaments adhere to the same rules and guidelines as international events, offering players an authentic and competitive experience at a local scale.
This growth would not be possible without the support of Level Academy, which provides the venue and equipment; MS Design, which ensures high-quality, graphic design for the tournament’s branding; and B Resin Malta, which sponsors the prizes.
