Vodafone Malta Foundation supports Agenzija Appogg’s Home-Start Project
Last week the Vodafone Malta Foundation was pleased to present a cheque of 7,000 euro to Agenzija Appogg as a contribution to the agency’s Home-Start project. This is a service offered to families with at least one child under the age of 5. The service started over 40 years ago in the United Kingdom and is now offered in over 20 countries worldwide, including Malta, where it is offered through this agency. Vodafone Malta Foundation has supported Home-Start Malta since it started in 2006.
Home-Start Malta is offered by volunteers, who are trained parents supported by the Home-start organiser. Their role is to visit families who, because of various reasons, are unable to cope with the young children who need specific attention during their formative years. This assistance to parents builds a healthier family environment for the children, with long term benefits for the whole family. Throughout the years, Home-Start Malta has supported over 500 children and their families.
