Vodafone employees donate €3,000 to Dar tal-Providenza
A group from Vodafone Malta has presented a cheque of €3,000 to Dar tal- Providenza in support of the Church Home’s upcoming volleyball marathon – an annual fund-raising event scheduled for the weekend June 28 to 30. Apart from raising funds that go towards the home’s operative work, the marathon also seeks to promote and make visible the values and benefits of voluntary work, sports, and respect for people with disabilities.
The sum of money is part of a larger sum of funds collected through the Vodafone Employee Contribution for Charity Scheme, where employees make a monthly donation taken directly and automatically from their salary. The leading telecoms player will further support the marathon by donating a number of smartphones as raffle prizes.
Director Fr Martin Micallef said “it is so encouraging for us who live and work at Dar tal-Providenza to realise that what we do here with persons who need our support is being acknowledged. Your support is extremely appreciated and will aid us to continue living up to our mission.”
