Vodafone helps eight individuals chase their dream

Vodafone has just announced the eight lucky winners who have recently won a training programme in preperation for the half marathon at the Vodafone Malta Marathon 2014. The 8 participants are, Zak Micallef, Marie Claire Cremona, Nadine Farrugia, Norman Aquilina, Norman Mifsud, Joelle Azzopardi and two Vodafone employees; Sandro Pisani, Head of Consumer Business Unit at Vodafone Malta and David Abela, Retail and Customer Care Supervisor at Vodafone Malta.

“We got a very positive response after announcing the opportunity to get a professional training programme for the Vodafone Malta Marathon earlier on this year,” said Daniela Abela at Vodafone Malta. “At Vodafone we are always looking for new ways of encouraging people to chase their dreams and through this programme we are helping people out there to achieve their goals. We would like to wish everyone good luck and let them know that we are behind them. Let the hard work and grueling training begin!”

Vodafone has teamed up with a group of professionals and the participants are being trained by a number of trainers from Kinetika Fitness Centre, guided by sports nutritionist Joe Sciberras of NutriSlim,  health Psychologist Dr. Elaine Dutton and geared up with the required clothing by Urban Jungle.  San Michel and Powerade are also providing drinks to each participant.

“We would like to thank Vodafone for giving us the opportunity to be guided by a professional team to take part in the half marathon at the Vodafone Malta Marathon 2014,” said the participants. “We are all different, but have the same aim!”

The Malta Marathon is one of Malta’s most popular international sporting events. Started off with just 109 participants in 1986, the marathon has seen a yearly increase in the number of local and international participants, becoming a truly international event firmly set in the Maltese sports calendar. It is by far the largest sporting event on the island.
