Squash – a conveniently healthy sport taught at KMS Skolasport

Squash, the preferred game of Wall Street has convenience on its side, as 30 minutes on the squash court provides an impressive cardio respiratory workout. This is just one of the several sports disciplines which are on offer in the KMS Skolasport programme organised by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport and sponsored by Kellogg’s, two entities which are committed to promote a vigorous and active lifestyle from a young age.

Liz Said (pictured above) who has been coaching squash at KMS Skolasport for the past 11 years, explained that, “Squash was voted by Forbes Magazine as the world’s healthiest sport, in recognition of the fact that it provides a thoroughly modern and potentially competitive, effective workout in minimal time and space. This makes it ideal for today’s hectic lifestyles, where even children struggle with their tight schedules.”

Kellogg’s, the world’s leading producer of breakfast cereal, sponsors KMS Skolasport and its initiatives to implement its philosophy and encourage young people to be physically active and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Squash sessions are held every Saturday morning, for both beginners and young players, at the squash courts within the KMS Sports Complex Tal-Qroqq.

KMS Skolasport is still accepting applications for the remaining available courses which run till the 30th May 2014. The application fee is €15 covering April and May 2014. Terms and conditions may apply.
