Gagliardi, a brand from the Bortex stable, was the preferred outfit of Jason Robinson, OBE at the opening of the new Bortex menswear store at the Bay Street Complex in St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, earlier this month.
Due to his athletic proportions, Jason explained that he needed specially fitted suits and he had found the perfect fit in the Gagliardi range, which he is promoting for Bortex in the UK.
Jason, 38, who was a professional rugby player for 17 years, including 14 as an international, is now also involved in the fashion world through the launch of his own clothing range in conjunction with the firm Proskins, which makes compression clothing to help athletes recover from injury and those with cellulite and aging-related issues.
Bortex Managing Director Peter Borg said that although sales from all the Bortex outlets in Malta represent no more than 10% of the group’s total turnover, it was a significant proportion that merited attention since it was Bortex’s home market.
Spread over 240 m2, the Bay Street Bortex outlet has a section for formal suits, a central area with shirts and accessories, and another section for casual wear, shoes and a host of ancillary products, as well as clothing ideas for the younger segment of the market.
Among the suiting brands available are those tailored from Lanificio F.lli Cerruti and Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna, Gagliardi and Rochas. Casual wear ranges from McNeal, Christian Berg and Paul Rosen, together with a range of footwear brands, including Loake, Anatomic, Hush Puppies and John White which reinforce the unbeatable brand offer available at all Bortex outlets.
This is the sixth Bortex retail outlet in Malta, after those in Valletta, the two in Sliema, Marsa and Mosta. A new outlet at The Duke Shopping complex in Gozo opens early next month.
