Make a Green Choice at the Westin Dragonara Resort
In its efforts to support Starwood’s Global Strategy of reducing 30% Electricity and 20% and Water Consumption by 2020, The Westin Dragonara Resort has embarked on a new project called Make a Green Choice to conserve water, energy and other resources.
Make a green choice provides stay-over guests with the daily opportunity to decline housekeeping services. In recognition for their participation, guests can reward themselves with a choice of a Food and beverage credit at participating hotel food and beverage venues, SPG Points or allow the hotel to donate these points to UNICEF’s environmental work for children on their behalf.
Make a green choice is the next evolution in green housekeeping practices and is an enhancement of other green initiatives such as Linen Reuse and Green Room program in place today. It truly offers guests the choice between Full Housekeeping Service, participation in Reuse Linen program only, or opting out of all housekeeping services with our room attendants not entering the guest room at all.
Guests are eligible to participate on stay-over nights only (not on day of departure) and for up to 3 consecutive nights. Guests can participate by simply placing the program door hanger on their door by 2AM. Guests are informed of the program through collateral within the guest room and upon check-in. Guest participation is purely voluntary.
