Doyaya Management jointly with official sponsors Calamatta Cuschieri Co. Limited are proud to announce the release of the eagerly anticipated debut album of local singing sensation Gianluca Bezzina, entitled Waiting for Tomorrow. Released by independent UK label Albam Records, Waiting for Tomorrow will be made available both in physical and digital formats in Malta and internationally. The album was unveiled at a press conference held at the premises of Calamatta Cuschieri in Valletta.

The 10 song album was written and produced by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat, the same team behind the hit single Tomorrow.

“It’s been a great collaboration that started a year ago and we all worked so hard on this album. I hope people enjoy the album as much as we enjoyed making it,” stated Gianluca.

Boris Cezek said that the album Waiting for Tomorrow, which was recorded at Doyaya Studios, is written and recorded with original material tailored to Gianluca’s unique voice and style, keeping the feel-good vibe that has already become synonymous with Gianluca and incorporates elements of 60s pop, swing and blue-eyed soul. “We have always believed in Gianluca’s potential and are extremely proud to see him grow into a fully-fledged artist. Waiting for Tomorrow is only the start of what will be a great music career,” added Dean Muscat.

Calamatta Cuschieri’s Chairman, Alex Cuschieri said he was proud to be investing in the success of a young local artist like Gianluca. “As an investment company we believe in encouraging youths to plan for tomorrow and we think Gianluca is a great role model,” he added.  Mr Cuschieri also spoke about the CC Cancer Fund which was set up as part of a collaborative campaign with Gianluca for the prevention of cancer among youths.

One euro from all the physical albums sold will go into the fund and the proceeds will be doubled by Calamatta Cuschieri. The fund will then be used to help young people with cancer and to sponsor the purchase of medical equipment and other initiatives.

Since his stellar performance at the Eurovision Song Contest finals in May, Gianluca and his song Tomorrow entered charts all over Europe, managing to peak at number 37 in the Official UK Top 40 singles chart, a first for a Maltese artist. The official video of the single went on to reach well over a million views on Youtube. June also saw Gianluca kick-off the Isle of MTV concert to an exuberant response from crowd and organisers alike.

Over the course of the summer Gianluca is set to make a number of appearances in support of promoting his new album, notably as a guest artist at Joseph Calleja’s prestigious annual concert on the 1^st of August, closing night at the Farsons Beer Festival on the 4^th of August, and a specially organised concert in Gozo on the 17^th of August.
