During the 2010 wedding fair, a couple won a two-night stay including flights to Le Méridien Etoile in Paris. In the interview with an enthusiastic and bubbly Mrs Costa, she explains how this  prize was the cherry on the cake.

Q. How long had you known each other before you tied the knot?

A. We exchanged vows on Saturday 10 December 2011 after 6 years of love and happiness,

Q. How many guests were invited? Was everything carried out to your satisfaction?

A. 200 guests were invited for a sit-down dinner – which was exquisite. All the staff were very polite and professional, and the event ran very smoothly

Q. How did you come to think of Le Méridien St Julian’s as a possible venue for your wedding and what made you decide to select it as your final choice?

A. We had decided to celebrate our big day with an intimate sit-down wedding. Le Méridien was actually the second venue we visited during our search for venues, and was our favourite. During our first meeting with the “wedding champion”, Bernice, she made such a great impact on us and greeted us with such warmth and charm, we immediately decided to trust our day in her specialised hands. During the planning of the wedding, Bernice went out of her way to make sure that she coordinated everything we had in mind, and the result was fantastic! We will always be grateful to her and to the passion she has in her work.

Q. Did you visit the wedding fair 2010?

A. We did! And that was where we decided to enter the competition. Our choice of venue ultimately wasn’t made due to the competition – we were still going to get married at Le Méridien, even if we didn’t win! But winning the competition was an extra added bonus.

Q. Who informed you that you had won the competition?

A. We received the news from the events coordinator; I was speechless and shocked! Never in a million years did I expect to win such a great prize.

Q. Did you use this prize as your honeymoon?

A. We visited Paris for our honeymoon during the festive season – 2 weeks after the wedding. We extended our 2-night stay prize to a 7-night stay – which was all-in-all a magical experience.

Q. Was this your first visit to Paris? And what was your impression of Le Méridien Etoile?

A. It was! Words cannot describe how beautiful Le Méridien Etoile is. Not only are the rooms breath-taking, but the service is impeccable and the cuisine was divine.

Q. What is your best memory of your stay inParis?

A. Both my husband and I are very fond of art. Walking about the Parisian roads, smelling the freshly cooked cuisine and witnessing all the great works of architecture – such as the Notre Dame and the Louvre. We also found some time to visit Disneyland Paris – a small treat to our daughter Ilania, and a small trip to childhood memories.

Q. Would they recommend Le Méridien St Julians to anyone wanting to get married?

Q. Did you get positive comments from your guests during or after the wedding (venue, food, service?)

A. We had nothing but positive comments about the wedding. When our guests heard the unfortunate comments from an infamous football team they were disgusted! They couldn’t understand how such complaints could arise when such attention to detail and perfection was given at our wedding.
