Where are the parents?
This article carried in today’s issue of The Times of Malta is worrying for many reasons, but mostly because it points once again to a culture where under age girls (especially) seem to be completely lacking in supervision.
Teenage girls are a headache, granted, because their impatience to grow up and be “women” can spur them to do crazy, risky things such as attending parties dressed erotically as described in the article. But parents really need to know exactly what their daughters are up to, and what kind of events they are attending. Step in and take control, before your young teenager does something she (and you) will regret.
The organisers also need to be held accountable. The pathetic statement that you cannot control the way they dress does not wash. I would just like to ask the 20-year-old party promoter one question: if he had a younger sister, would he be happy to see her attend a party dressed like that?
