Beware of SMS scam
Vodafone Malta has just been made aware of a scam currently being employed whereby customers are receiving an SMS asking them to call an urgent foreign number and would like to inform customers not to call or reply to the number as they will incur an extra charge and premium rate. The main content of the spam includes:
“Please Call me Urgent”
“Congratulations you are the winner. Urgent the director bank insist to call immediately for free to receive your cheque today”
“Congratulations your 50 thousand has been transferred to your bank. Call now for free on this number to get your transfer code”
Anyone who recieves these messages is encouraged to send an e-mail to report the issue on reportspam.mt@vodafone.com.
