Walk & Talk Against Domestic Violence
Let’s unite to end domestic violence against women, children and men.
What happens behind closed doors in so many cases can only be described as shocking and disgusting act. Physical, emotional and sexual abuse are experienced by several women, children and men in Malta and globally.
On the occasion of Women’s Day, the volunteer organization Siggiewi Youth initiative and Family Therapy Institute is organizing a Walk & Talk that will start on Sunday 25 March 2012 at 10.30am from the ‘Love’ monument at Spinola Bay in St Julian’s and end opposite the Preluna hotel in Sliema.
The purpose of the event Walk & Talk Against Domestic Violence is to raise awareness about the problem of domestic violence in general and in Malta specifically.
Participants are invited to exchange information and share experiences. Specific presentations by experts will be given. We are honoured to have the following distinguished speakers on board:
Director of The SmartSkin Clinic – Dr. Joanna Dalia
Chair of Women Confederation of Women-s Organization – Ms. Renee Laiviera
Family Therapist & Founding Chairperson of The Institute of Family Therapy – Malta – Dr. Charlie Azzopardi.
