CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
This competition is open to all residents of Malta & Gozo.
All entrants must be over the age of 18 at the final submission date.
The organising committee and judging panel are barred from taking part in this competition.
The original image must be made by the participant and acquired with a still camera. No mobile images are allowed. Any modification of the original image must be made by the participant. Only brightness/contrast, basic colour control, cropping is permitted as we want the work to realistically depict the subject.
The theme for the Calendar is VILLAGE CORE…THE TRADITIONAL PERSPECTIVE.
By virtue of submitting an entry, the participant certifies the work as his or her own and permits the Organizers to reproduce or exhibit all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication or display in the media in relation to the competition’s publicity.
Participants must have full rights to the entries submitted and personally assume responsibility for any claim arising out of the publication or exhibition of their entries, as the Organizers assume no liability for any misuse of copyright and/or data protection and categorically disclaim any liability whatsoever.
The copyright of any photographs entered in this competition remains with the entrant at all times but the images cannot be used by the participant till 2019.
Each participant may submit up to a maximum of three digital entries. Entries must be in colour, in HORIZONTAL format as JPGS at 2000 pixels on the longest side at 300dpi. No other sizes will be accepted. The title of the files is to bear the participant’s name.
All submitted images MUST have been taken in the localities where Maypole outlets are located namely:

The organizers reserve the right to ask for the original RAW file in order to check adherence to the post-processing rules.
The submissions are to be emailed using www.wetransfer.com to courses@mipp-malta.com. An email acknowledgement will be sent for each submission.
The deadline for submission of the works is the 15th of October, 2018
There is no entry fee.
The organizers will only use the entrant’s details for the purposes of administering this competition.
The Organizers reserve the right to reject any work giving no specific reason for such action.
Participation in this competition signifies acceptance of all the above conditions. Non adherence to these rules can disqualify entries.
Any personal details submitted by the entrant will be protected by the organisers as required by the Data Protection Act. All entrants must ensure that they have all necessary permissions for their entries.
Prizes: The submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges, who will select the best 12 images for the 2019 Maypole Calendar. The successful entrants will receive a payment of €30 for each image used in the Calendar. A further 10 images will be selected to feature on Maypole related media in order to promote the exhibition. Five calendars will be given to each successful entrant. The photographers will be credited at all times.
