Considered to be the premier category of the Malta Journalism Awards, this category rewards journalists who, during the previous year, have endeavored to produce the best news items specifically for newspapers and magazines.
“In a tangible manner, HSBC recognises the valid and significant contribution that Maltese journalists give on a daily basis to Maltese society. Over the past 23 years, the Institute of Maltese Journalists has continuously striven to nurture higher standards and ethical journalism in Malta,” said HSBC Malta’s Head of Communications, Mr Franco Aloisio.
“Ethics, education and professionalization are the Institute’s three main priorities. The Malta Journalism Awards is the best showcase of the standards of Maltese journalism. One can say that the winners’ list of the various categories in previous editions is a veritable roll-call of the top Maltese journalists,” said the Institute’s Chairman Malcolm J. Naudi.
