A Gastronomic Experience at The de Mondion

Set atop Mdina’s centuries- old bastions, within The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux, awarded the runner-up for the best dining boutique hotel in the world, the de Mondion offers a unique fine dining experience, enhanced by truly spectacular panoramic views of the island from the terraces and charming features in elegant surroundings.

Time and time again the de Mondion restaurant has been rated amongst the top restaurants in Malta for its cuisine, refinement and excellence. Amongst the prestigious rewards and excellent reviews, the de Mondion restaurant lately was chosen by Fodor’s Travel Guide, as one of the top ten restaurants where one can dine like royalty- adding a whole new meaning to dining out. With an exquisite cuisine combining the finest seasonal produce with innovation and expertise to create tantalizing dishes, the award winning Kitchen Brigade ably led by talented Chef de Cuisine Kevin Bonello has and continues to delight the palate of a multinational clientele.

The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux in collaboration with NM Arrigo will be hosting a wine event providing our patrons with not only an exquisite four course dinner but also with a varied selection of Sicilian wines that are sure to appease your palate.  The wines that you’ll have the opportunity to sample, include: Grecanico ‘Costadune’- Mandrarossa, a complex and aromatically defined white wine with a citrusy fruit character on the nose and palate; ‘Rami’- Azienda Agricola COS, a delicate white wine with notes of orange zest as well as Sicilian lemons; ‘Alla Macchia’- Marco de Bartoli, a typical Sicilian red wine with nicely balanced tannins with hints of red berries and a pinch of tabacco; Nero d’Avola ‘Cartaghio’- Mandrarossa, a light bodied red wine with hints of black pepper, plum and cherry on the palate and with a slight earth tinged smell of cranberries lingering behind; and the Marsala ‘Vecchio Samperi Ventennale’- Marco de Bartoli, a medium- sweet wine with aromas of dried nuts, figs and some vinegary notes on the nose and smooth, honeyed and nutty flavours on the palate.

The wine dinner is going to be held on 14th March 2014 at the de Mondion restaurant and is priced at Euros 75 per person.
