Following the announcement of Vodafone taking up the corporate sponsorship of the Malta Marathon for the coming five years, Vodafone is giving its customers the opportunity to get the chance of winning a training programme in preparation for the half marathon at the Vodafone Malta Marathon 2014.

“At Vodafone we are always looking for new ways of encouraging people to chase their dreams and this sponsorship is the right platform to enable our customers to achieve their goals,” said Sandro Pisani, Head of Marketing at Vodafone Malta.

Vodafone has teamed up with a group of professionals, including trainers, a nutritionist and a health psychologist to facilitate the participants’ journey to achieve their half marathon on the 23rd February 2014 at the Vodafone Malta Marathon. To participate, Vodafone customers have to download the application form from www.vodafone.com.mt/chase your dream, complete it, and send it together with a full length photograph and a medical certificate certifying that the applicant is fit to take up this training programme. The application is to be sent to Vodafone Malta Marathon Training Challenge, Vodafone Malta Limited, Skyparks Business Centre, MIA, Luqa. The training programme will commence on October 14 whereby an average of 10 to 15 hours of training per week is required. The hours of training is expected to increase as the date of the Malta half marathon approaches.

The Malta Marathon is one of Malta’s most popular international sporting events. Started off with just 109 participants in 1986, the marathon has seen a yearly increase in the number of local and international participants, becoming a truly international event firmly set in the Maltese sports calendar. It is by far the largest sporting event on the island.
