Festa B’Differenza is being held on Saturday 7 July from 9am till 11pm. A whole day of activities is being organised at Casa Leoni Gardens including Romeo Romano Gardens, Santa Venera.
The main theme is healthy living and healthy eating but the activity will incorporate different Ministries, Departments, Entities, Non Government Organisations, participation of the Elderly from the Santa Venera Day Centre, Scouts and Transport Malta to name a few.
One of the main attractions of the Romeo Romano gardens will be the old water mill. Ancient tools which are displayed in the farmhouse will be open to the general public on the day.
The activities will include provision of first aid throughout the event, a whole array of activities by the Santa Venera Boy Scouts such as bridge and tower building and face painting. Judo and Ju Jitsu sessions will be provided, as well as Zumba dancing for the young and the older generation. Carmen Tedesco will be demonstrating her healthy cooking recipes . There will be discussions and talks about healthy eating and nutrition by Dr Suzanne Piscopo, a discussion about healthy ageing by Chev Philip Chircop, the Ambassador of Active Ageing and the participation of Mr Chris Barbara who will speak about diabetes care awareness.
The Malta Council Voluntary Sector and SOS Malta who will be presenting two of their active projects VolServ and kellimni.com while The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Malta will also be represented.
There will be various stalls of fruit and vegetables, healthy food products, nuts, gluten and sugar free tasting and sampling, free blood glucose tests and blood pressure examination by the Medical Students of the University of Malta, Smoking Cessation Counselling by the Health Promotion Department and demonstrations/awareness by the Transport Malta Department. Various exhibits to include painting, sculpture and craft. At the very end, there will be a show by Freddie Portelli.
The general public is being invited to attend. The activities are being organized to reach all age groups. Healthy food and drink will be available throughout the day and evening.
