The Sense Group at freshers week

The Sense Group once again this year took the initiative of engaging with the thousands of students attending the University of Malta Freshers Week to promote the culture of moderation in alcohol consumption. Using the platform of its website www.drinkawaremalta.com as its information base for both young and older adults on the facts about alcohol, it continued its programme of advising caution on the misuse of alcoholic beverages and all the negative consequences that arise from abusive practices.

 

Set up in the late nineties by the main alcoholic beverage industry companies in Malta , The Sense Group has this year stepped up its campaign with infomercials that on line alone have since August hit over 30,000 views to date with the theme Be Drink aware. At Freshers week students were invited to visit the website, the Drink Aware Malta Facebook page and view the video production on screen on campus. They also interacted on the site by trying out the quiz on alcohol excess and its impact on the human brain many were rewarded with free discount vouchers from e-Cabs to promote taxi usage when alcohol is consumed rather than driving home.
