New Committee for L-Għaqda tal-Malti – Università

The Għaqda tal-Malti recently held its Annual General Meeting at Europe House, following two years of outstanding performance by the 2013-2015 Commitee. Apart from serving as an opportunity to update members on the sterling work being carried out, the meeting’s agenda included the election of a new committee to continue working with the aim of promoting the Maltese language and all other related areas.
The newly-elected Committee expresses gratitude towards its previous members for their commitment, while it looks forward to further contribute and continue working within the Organisation during the term 2015-2017. The roles and duties of the newly-elected members are as follows: Dr Bernard Micallef (Head of the Department of Maltese), Dorianne Bonello (President), Dorianne Bartolo (Vice President), Kit Azzopardi (Secretary), Alvin Vassallo (Treasurer), Dorothy Bezzina (Public Relations Officer), Theresa Abdilla, Beverly Agius u Leanne Ellul (Committee members). The positive energy and diverse qualities of the team augur well for the Organisation’s growth in the years to come.
L-Għaqda tal-Malti encourages all interested individuals, particularly students, to join and contribute to the Organisation. The Organisation is currently working on Leħen il-Malti (Issue 34), its official journal; TAĦŻIŻ3, a project intended to holistically train participants in the creative writing process; as well as the initiative known as Sinteżi, aimed at making university student research more accessible to the public.
