Throughout the past six months, Vivian Corporation has collected over 3,000 used Chicco bottles, which it entrusted to GreenPak for recycling. Consumers of Chicco products were invited to collect used Chicco plastic bottles and deposit them in selected retail outlets acrossMaltaand Gozo. These bottles were in turn handed over to GreenPak for recycling.
The Chicco collection scheme, which was launched last April, managed to recycle an impressive tally of over 500 bottles per month. The scheme invited customers who were consuming and collecting a range of Chicco empty products, to exchange them with educational Orchard puzzles. Keeping with the environmental friendly theme, the Orchard games were manufactured using thick, durable recycled boards.
Kurt Scerri, GreenPak’s Waste Education Officer, said “Nowadays many Maltese households understand the importance of recycling. Thanks to Chicco and GreenPak’s initiative, several consumers have actively helped the environment by redirecting in excess of 3,000 plastic bottles away from landfill.”
