The search for the world’s most creative young entrepreneur has begun. As nominations for the JCI Malta 2012 First Edition of Creative Young Entrepreneur Award open, members and non-members of JCI Malta are hoping to prove thatMalta’s young entrepreneurs are amongst the world’s most creative.
“The competition sponsored by HSBC and KPMG is open to all residents of Malta between the ages of 18 and 40”, explained Charlotte Gregory, 2012 President of JCI Malta. “The nomination process is simple, and anyone can nominate an entrepreneur, and young entrepreneurs are encouraged to nominate themselves.”
JCI Malta is part of a worldwide community of young active citizens ages 18-40 who are dedicated to creating the positive change they wish to see in themselves and the world. There are nearly 200,000 members active in 115 countries across the globe. JCI launched the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award Competition in 2006 in partnership with the Flanders District of Creativity, an initiative of the Belgium Government. “Our competition is the first step on the road to becoming the 2012 Creative Young Entrepreneur Award winner. I know that we have outstanding candidates for this award in our community,” Ms Gregory continued. “We hope that these creative and talented young business owners and entrepreneurs come forward to be recognized through the competition, with the potential of moving on to the International Level Competition”
JCI Malta aims to be recognised as the organisation that is the forum for the development of bold and stimulating leaders within our community. We aspire to provide our members with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, social responsibility fellowship and entrepreneurship for the advancement of the individual and the community in general.
Jonathan J. Borg JCI National Deputy President explained that the entry process involves the simple completion of a nomination form. From these entries a panel of experts drawn from within the local economic and entrepreneurial community will select 3 semi-finalists to move forward into the 2012 JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award Competition Final which will be held in April. The successful candidate will then be competing on an international level for the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award.
Three international finalists from around the world will be chosen for the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award, These finalists will receive a free round-trip airline ticket to attend the JCI World Congress which will be held in November in Taipei. The prize package also includes a free hotel stay at the congress headquarters hotel, and one free JCI World Congress registration. One finalist will be selected by a panel of international judges as the 2012 JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur – the top creative young entrepreneur in the world.
“The competition is geared towards business people who use imagination and creativity in their business enterprise,” said Borg. “That could be any number of things, including using creativity in product development, service development, or even in the way they approach the market.
The key is how they have tackled something in a fresh way, using their talent, imagination and ingenuity to drive their business.”
