Nectar Group, which is based at Ta’ Qali and is involved in the importation and distribution of an extensive portfolio of food and beverage products, has won three awards during the recently held Malta People Awards organised by the Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD).

Nectar Group won three different categories namely ‘Excellence through Technology’ for their tablet project NectarActive Market Navigator, ‘Learning & Development’ for their  training programmes including the Nectar Sales Academy, and ‘Performance & Reward’ for the performance and reward system adopted at Nectar named BEST (Building Efficiency and Success Together).

It was an unforgettable night for the Group as the winning of these awards coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Group.

The aim of these awards is to celebrate outstanding achievement in people management and recognises the projects and initiatives that have transformed business performance and made the biggest contribution to the way people are engaged, managed and developed.

“From the outset, the Nectar Group has been built on the philosophy of seeking to be a value-driven organisation. The five core Nectar values underpinning the way we do business are corporate citizenship, excellence, unity, concept leadership; and continuous learning. It is therefore very encouraging for our Group to receive such recognition through these awards. They inspire us to further pursue these values with trust and integrity,” said Mr Roderick Abela, Managing Director of the group.

“It is an honour for the Group to have our efforts acknowledged through such prestigious awards. These occasions confirm that the management of Nectar Group is committed to provide employees with the best working conditions possible. Such opportunities enable us to look positively to the future and with optimism that together we can achieve more positive results,” said Mr Mark Bugeja, Human Resources and Quality Manager of the group.

There were 19 leading companies participating in this year’s event, totalling 32 submissions that were assessed in seven different categories.
