Vodafone employees share a special gift just in time for Valentine’s

Just a few days before the feast of love, Vodafone employees shared the gift of life and responded to the constant appeals of the Blood Donation Unit to give blood. Vodafone employees together with CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics and SkyParks employees responded positevly and joined forces to donate blood and help save people’s lives.

“We wanted to celebrate Valentine’s by giving a special gift to the Maltese society at large,” said Roberta Pace, Administrator at Vodafone Malta Foundation. “We were positevly impressed by the amount of employees who wanted to donate blood. It was an activity that everyone wanted to contribute to and the number of new donors was really positive. We would like to thank the staff at the National Blood Transfusion Service who helped everyone feel comfortable.”

SkyParks Business Centre enthusiastically extended Vodafone’s initiative together with CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics’ cooperation, to all the tenants at SkyParks who warmly took up Vodafone’s invitation and contributed towards the campaign. “We thought that this year, St. Valentines could be celebrated in a different way, loving someone you wouldn’t know by saving their life. We were very pleased with the number of successful donations and newly registered donors. SkyParks Business Centre would like to thank all the people who participated in this initiative especially the National Blood Transfusion Service staff for their hard work and dedication,” said a spokesperson from SkyParks Business Centre.

A representative from CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics said, “It was a pleasure for CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics to support and host such a successful Blood Drive. Our practice commits itself every day to people’s well-being and this was just another example. Donors also got the opportunity to give blood within a state-of-the-art and lavish medical centre.”

Vodafone considers Corporate Social Responsibility a key element in what it does. Blood donation goes beyond saving peoples’ lives as it bonds people and make those who contribute feel strong, important and part of a human-centred environment where people care about one another.
