GO staff committed to the environment

A team from GO recently planted a group of Tamarisk trees at the Nature Trust park at Xrobb l-Ghagin. Each team member who participated was, in fact, given a tree to plant in their own name.

Laurie Pace, Brand Marketing Coordinator at GO, said, “GO’s ongoing commitment to the community also extends to the environment and our support for Nature Trust and their work at Xrobb l-Ghagin is part of this effort. Apart from doing our bit for the environment these activities are also a great educational and team building experience.”

In addition to the tree planting, the GO employees were also given details about the history and ongoing work of Nature Trust at Xrobb l-Ghagin. The park, in fact, also welcomes and looks after injured wildlife with plans in place to increase the space available for turtles and hedgehogs. The park is also used for various environmental educational activities.

Vince Attard, President of Nature Trust, said, “Xrobb l-Ghagin has really come a long way since we first took over the site. Thanks to the support of the public, and from companies like GO, we are confident that the park will continue to develop for the benefit of us all.”

As part of the event, GO employees were also able to add their own personal dedication to the trees which included committing to making every day count, to appreciating the work of Nature Trust in caring for the environment, to being passionate about our customers, caring more for the environment and community and to continued innovation and to team work at GO.

“Having to think of a personal dedication for the tree you are planting creates a very personal link between you and the tree as well as helping you to think about what really matters. It’s a great way to wrap up a great experience,” concluded Laurie Pace.
