Don’t pay the ferry man – UPDATED

Over the weekend, the Gozo channel  Chairman was in the news because he demanded that the Gozo ferry turn back to collect him and his family after he literally missed the boat.

Despite describing the behaviour as unacceptable, Minister Tonio Fenech is now telling us we should wait before demanding his resignation.

As we all know, other appointed public officials and politicians have stayed on in their roles for even worse behaviour then this…but what do you think?

Is this a grave enough act to warrant dismissal?

5.24 pm UPDATE….he has now resigned, but if you ask me, his explanation is rather lame.  He thought the ferry  had departed 15 minutes earlier than scheduled,  when in fact it was simply because the new winter timetable had come into force.  So, couldn’t he have just asked WHY the ferry had left earlier?
