Lidl, the retail chain leader in Malta with 7 stores, is the official sponsor of the 11th edition of the 60 hour Football Marathon organised by Puttinu Cares and to be held between the 8th and 10th of May at the KMS Marsa Sport Centre. Besides football, this will be a weekend of fun and harmony for children with clowns, jugglers and magicians at the main stage.
Lidl is enormously proud to be the main sponsor of this exciting charity initiative for children. “We are honoured that Puttinu Cares have chosen us as socially responsible active partners. It has always been a clear and irrefutable pledge to support these type of initiatives as we firmly believe that these events are instrumental to create value for the local community and the society in which we operate” said a representative from the Headquarters of Lidl Malta.
This is not the first time that Lidl Malta will be supporting this event and the company is committed to attract the attention of many people as possible and to promote the event among customers. Since 2005, this activity has been held on a national level to raise funds for Puttinu Cares Cancer Support Group and to offer an all-inclusive approach of care for families with children suffering from cancer. Puttinu’s Football Marathon is organised with the support from the head members of the state who all visit the marathon.
Last year the marathon had raised almost €1.4 million, meeting the target of the organisers. This year the organisers are targeting to exceed last year’s amount to fund more apartments in Sutton, London.
